the job scam.
HAHA!
i changed my blogskin finally.
(: got kinda sick with the pink one.
edited this skin a lil. hope the creator won't find out. oops. (probability is close to ZERO.)
i've also uploaded the dive pictures up on this blog! You just have to scroll down a lil more. (:
anyway, I'M EMPLOYED! xD thanks to gary and Kelly Services.
for 3 days for the F1 Race as a Buffer Retail Staff from the 26th - 28th September. WooHoo!
i feel happy. i feel happy. i feel happy. i feel happy.
x))

right. anyway, i was scammed the other day. :(
i was happily flipping the Cats Classified Pages in The Newpaper just the other day, (ohkay, to be precise, MONDAY) and i stumbled upon this lil' column that printed, 'IMMEDIATE JOB VACANCIES FOR FULL TIME/PART TIME/FREELANCE Call/SMS XXXX XXXX if interested'

Right, so I did what it said. SMS. (calling would really be an insane move on my part considering the fact that I only have 100minutes free and I have clocked 28 hours of outgoing calls already this month. -.- roar.)
surprisingly, i got an immediate reply stating that i was up for an interview at 3pm that same day. WOOHOO! sounds cool. NOT.

it was at EUNOS. MDIS Building. So i had the false impression that i was gonna work for MDIS. turns out, MDIS shifted to a larger compound and rented the space out to companies. and nahh, i shan't mention the name of the company.
so i got acquainted with the fella on the phone. said hi. and filled in a form. the form was short. not very sweet. but really pointless. it only required my name, tel, address, medical background and family members' names. -.- way to go mann.
they were selling health products. and honestly, i saw them all before. because my distant relative used to sell them.

i went for a lil' walk around their office. sat for a 3 hour talk about the success stories of the business managers who rose from being sales agents.
initially, i was friggin' amused by the speaker who was demonstrating chemistry tests on their ionized water. i figured any human who passed o level chemistry would understand what a joke he was.

He made comparisons between neutral h2o and ionized h2o. so he stated that he could prove ionized water has more 'energy' - by using two free ends of an open circuit with a bulb attached. So you apply the chemistry laws. Ions are free to move when in liquid and are hence able to carry the current. Inversely, water without ions would not be able to carry any current since h2o molecules are covalently bonded. (: SO OBVIOUSLY, its not about the 'energy' in the water, its about the conductivity of the fluid the circuit is put into. ... so basically, they treated the entire audience as retarded kids, and the entire audience did respond like retarded kids. They applauded with much delight.

He also stated, that ionized water was much healthier since it could neutralize the harmful effects of germs and bacteria. His replacement of germs and bacteria? - Iodine Solution. So he dropped a few drops into both ionized water and neutral normal water, and WALLAH, the one in ionized water 'disappeared' and the one in neutral water remained. -.- Apply chemistry again. Iodine Solution is iodine solid dissolved in water. So it become iodine ions. When aqueous iodine is reacted with ionized water, the negative iodine ions reacts with the positive ions in the water and forms a soluble substance which is white and the negative ions left in the water so happens to be colorless and hence, the result appears to be as clear as 'water'. On the contrary, because normal h2o consists of only covalent molecules, they do not react, and hence, is unable to dissolve aqueous iodine. ROAR. so much for NEUTRALIZING GERMS AND BACTERIA. anyway, since when did iodine and its properties resemble a germ or bacteria?!

okay, you won't want to know more about the nonsense i heard about the 6 'spectacular' properties of the ionized water they were selling.
i almost fell asleep after that. tried to keep awake. so after the session, had to sit for almost an hour more, as more people tried to persuade the noobs to join their company. when i eventually said no, they sat me down and tried to talk to me even more. They only asked me for a reason (which i was really excited to give) why I didn't want to come for the training when i yawned out loud. duh. i think the reasons are obvious. HAHA. so i started to give lame reasons. and surprisingly, it only took them 2 to realise they were lame reasons. HOHO (not bad, especially since i made it friggin' obvious) RIGHT. and they finally let me off. almost punched my fists into the air with delight when i stepped out of the building, but i contained my joy.

CRAP SHIT. it was sucha hilarious scene watching people gasp in awe as those business managers show off their 5 figure paychecks. YEAH YEAH. you'll all hear the success stories. out of the hundreds and thousands who joined this company like fools all these years, only this handful emerged and enjoyed the wealth they dreamt of when they first joined the company. YOOHOO, this is reality, only the strongest AND fittest survive. And I don't think these people, who are currently exuding that fame and confidence, are careless enough to let their guard down and let some weird newbie steal their show. What idiots. hmmm.

any oh how, i'm really glad i survived it. Had much fun disturbing the people. HEEHEE.
lalalala. now i know. i'll never ever dial a number in The Newpaper again. Never. (:
