geishas actually ring a bell.
BUT! they come from JAPAN.
i found something similar to the entertainers of the Land of the Rising Sun.
may i present, the Kisaengs!
(pronounce it: Ki- seng)
they should be just as talented and demure, just like any geisha.
the only differences between the two would be the kisaengs don a hanbok and speak korean.
oh yes!
DID I MENTION!?
The Land of Morning Calm ; Korea.
the kisaengs originated from there.
there is, of course, one famous kisaeng, whose name has survived through time.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

the name is Hwan Jin-i
she was skilled in performing on the tightrope and played a variety of instruments, including the geomungo (Korean zither).
and to top it all, SHES GORGEOUS.
supposed to be.
i didnt find the actress who was playing her role in the drama any prettier than Fann Wong.
but oh well.
Ha Ji Won is playing the female lead.
=)

i've yet to discover more of korea's deep history.
KOREA RULES!
hahahs.
=D

someone actually asked me whats up with the christmas do-up.
LOLS.
here it is.
i'm just getting warmed up for the festive season!
and i'm just plain lazy.
since i've done it up already.
i guess i can maintain this skin for the next month!
=)

i've just switched to blogger beta.
and its somewhat the same as Blogger.
perhaps the only difference could be the extra function.
to add a label for the post-
lols-

it has been raining for the past few days,
making the weather really cool.
perfect for afternoon naps and lazing around.
hahahs.

enjoy your hols peeps!
we won't get such perfect weathers next year.

Sunday, 26 November 2006
hooray!
just 3 more days and im out of town.
=D
how i hope my cousin's boss would let me go to korea with her too!
cross my fingers and hope to die!

LOLS.

Saturday, 25 November 2006
today, is saturday.
=)
i've collected the laptop and the cam.
its an Olympus FE-170.
its a little different from sony cameras.
it works with alkaline batteries.
and has in-builty memory.
uhh.
so far.
this camera is the weirdest i've come across.
hahas.
i still have to spend 50 bucks for the Xd card.
and i've got to get rechargable batteries so as not to waste resources..
so in the end i end up spending an extra 100 bucks for the accesories.
my bro got the laptop set up in his room.
=D

i breezed through today's tuition.
its really fun to differentiate.
lols.
even though i make lots of careless mistakes.
=D
i think theresa and yuean finds it interesting too!!

i have a burning question to ask.
but somehow, i don't know how to bring it up.
lols.

Friday, 24 November 2006
i had a really nice dream last night.
a little unrealistic.
but nevertheless,
i felt the warmth in whole.
i never felt this close to someone before.
hmm.
dreams are usually opposite from reality.
thats what i conclude.
because i felt fortunate in the dream.
and when i was on my way to school,
i got drenched TWICE by vehicles that zoomed past and splashed me with yucky drain water.
but its somehow lingering in my mind throughout the day.
sometimes i recall a little of this.
then i remember a little of that.
like it all happened before.
its still vivid right now.
but somehow,
i wish to keep this to myself.
=)

thank you for the pouch jonathan! =)
enjoy your cruise ~

thanks alot for your care too.
i'm alright.
really.
hahas.

Wednesday, 22 November 2006
band practice this morning was a little ridiculous.
and i guess the man with the deepest reputation should be careful with the words he use on us and in front of us.
rather a tiring day.
my eyes are hardly open already.

take care my friends.
take really good care.
=)

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE PHOTOS FROM THE 3H BBQ!

do inform me if you encounter any problems with the file.
i have extra copies! =D

Tuesday, 21 November 2006
ytd was the 3H bbq.
=D
met up with theresa to buy frozen food.
our first attempt to fry a basket full of prawn balls seem to have gone a little overboard.
with oil overflowing.
but the rest was fine.
we made our way there.
sorry yuean-
made you wait.
lols.
the rest of the day ;
or should i say night,
was alright.
not exactly a perfect starry night.
but good.
umbrellas over the bbq pit, lots of food, a birthday cake, with a birthday girl, and everyone.
i think i sniffed in too much smoke.
but anyway.
i've got all the pictures up in my cam.
i will upload it as soon as possible.
=)

today's trombone outing was marvellous.
probably because of the food.
we had pizza hut.
and they were talking.
=)
we took some pictures too.
=D

ytd would have been wonderful.
even without the perfect starry night.
if you never appeared.

Sunday, 19 November 2006
i just purchased a laptop.
which comes with a 6.0 megapixel camera.
and i can only collect it next week.
i wonder what i'll do with it.
or should i say,
i wonder what will happen to it.
most probably my brother would try his best to convince my mum to give him the laptop,
which he will.
and then i'll be left with the camera.
so now.
i have 2 cameras.
DARN.
anyway.
i'm getting a desktop.
HAHAHA.
oh well.
its just too bad i can't get a laptop.
YET.
heheh.
im sure i'll get one soon enough.
=D

Thursday, 16 November 2006
i've been experiencing mood swings today-
to the extremes.
probably because i've sniffed too much thinner and paint.
and then i've got a stiff back for the whole afternoon.
felt like an old lady.
and probably experienced what i would experience again fifty years down the road.

now.
i'm a LITTLE disappointed i guess.
really.
i've been thinking a little too much.
just a little too much.

Tuesday, 14 November 2006
a rather cold and quiet day.
without junior.
life is never the same.

Sunday, 12 November 2006
it should be this feeling.
when relatives come together to talk about everything.
a little warmth and a tickling sense of happiness.
it should be this feeling.
when you cannot assure yourself that your closed one is safe.
a sense of fear and horrid imagination.
it should be like this.

i feel jealousy creeping out of me when i see my cousin so close to her kids.
she and her well-to-do family.
its strange how my father's family can treat each other like old flames even when they have not met for ages.
like how they manage to treat me like a part of them even when i never seem to have taken the initiative to talk to them before.
even my sister can blend in with her kids and go crazy when they never knew each other before.
i now see the difference-
between how my father views life and how my mum views it too.
my father never lacked of family support and trust.
my mum never seem to have gained any trust from her family since she was young.
she seemed to have been entrusted with the responsibilty of taking care of her sister.
so yeah.
i guess i understand alot more.

and btw,
you guys should catch A Haunting and Zero Hour(s) on Discovery Channel.
its too cool.
Zero Hour featured Capturing Saddam ytd.
they interviewed the iraqi who worked for the american army as a translator and was at the scene when they discovered and found saddam hussein in his well hidden bunker.
he even took a photo with him.
cool. but nevertheless thrilling.
=D

salty. sweet. sour. bitter.
taste the world.

Friday, 10 November 2006
i'm going on a trip to guangzhou at the end of this month.
i wonder if this is good news or bad news,
because,
somehow, i don't feel happy at all.
i'm glad my aunt have decided to bring me overseas again.
but because she kept pushing my mum's opinion of changing the destination to somewhere more suitable for my sister to go so she can come along too,
my mum got pissed.
and now,
shes ignoring me.
like its my fault that my aunt doesnt want her to tag along.
or that my aunt's bringing me overseas.
i hate the way shes behaving.
i hate it.

Wednesday, 8 November 2006
안녕!
=)
i went to the ICA today.
had my NRIC and passport done.
it was really crowded.
and level 2 was filled with babies and small kids.
cute-
=)
i finished at about 7.
my father got locked out of the ICA building because security have closed the gates and only allowed people to exit and not enter.
he got a carpark summon by a 'carpark auntie'.
not exactly an auntie lah.
he was a male.
and there was not only one of him.
there were plenty all around the small carpark waiting for the coupon to expire within the hour and start handing out tickets.
and my father was one unlucky one.
to cheer us up,
we went for a steamboat!
=D
hooray!

SO TO THE 3 CREATORS OF the KOREAN FAN CLUB.
no more sakae sushi ok!
lets have a steamboat!
=D
i know the exact place to have it.
and it is fully air conditioned!

ok.
so that was my dinner.
we walked around golden mile for a while to collect brochures on impending tours.
and my sister found one on a trip to NORTH KOREA.
well,
till just now.
i always thought N.Korea was a communist state and wouldn't allow any form of human to enter or exit it.
and WOW.
aeroplanes can actually fly in there?!
carrying a few dozens of passengers to corrode their people's minds.
in fact.
they should start worrying whether we will bring about the next strike on N.Koreans wanting democracy.
lols.
but what a beautiful decision.
to open up N.Korea to the world.
hooray!
now.
i look forward to visiting Pyongyang.
hahahs.
xD

FOCUS ON THE FAMILY
By Dr James Dobson

TEENAGE ATTITUDE

How does a happy, cooperative 12-year-old boy or girl suddenly turn into a sullen, depressed 13-year-old?

There are two powerful forces that overtake our kids in the early pubescent years, and account for some of the strange behaviour that drives parents crazy. The first is social in nature, with incredible pressures being inflicted on adolescents by the peer group. But the second, which I think is more important, is hormonal in nature. We can see the effect of these hormones on the physical body, of course, but something equally dynamic is occuring in the brain. Human chemistry apparently goes haywire for a few years, affecting the mind as well as body. This internal upheaval will motivate a boy or girl to do things that make absolutely no sense to the adults watching anxiously on the sidelines. There's a tendency for parents to despair during this period of transition. Everything they've tried to teach their sons and daughters seems to have misfired for a couple of years. Self-discipline, cleanliness, respect for authority, the work ethic, even common courtesy may look like lost causes.

But there is good news. Better days are coming- I promise. That's why, perhaps the very best advice I can offer at this time is: don't look too quickly for the person your child will become.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

it sounds comforting don't you think?
at least some adult we don't know can shed some understanding for us teenagers.
how i wish my mum could read it.
or actually, understand it.
lols.
Today has loads of news, and information.
like for example i've found out whats PSI.
not the rumoured , Please Stop Indonesians or Please Stay Indoors.
its actually Pollutant Standards Index or more commonly known as PSI.
its still up on our tv screens everyday.
=)
so i got bored of Today.
the only article that made me delighted, other than the one above, was the one on Saddam Hussein being passed the death sentence.
i bought The Newpaper.
and i found this page with someone's face that would delight LEOW YUE AN very much.
hahahs.
this person would be none other than Kim Jeong Hoon.
ok. yuean, this person is YUL.
hahahs.
his picture took up about one quarter of the news page.
he was in Taipei recently promoting skiing for the Korea Tourism Organisation.
that article just mentioned that he would not be stopping by Singapore to promote his album and would be holding concerts all around Japan.
(oh. what the heck.)
and btw, to lighten the atmosphere, his most dramatic anecdote was when he got chased out of the house naked when he was in kindergarten.
oh, poor thing.
=
and the sequel to Princess Hours is Prince Hours, starring Se7en.
he plays an extrovert restaurant worker who finds out he is a long-lost prince.
so he enters the palace and gets caught in a comedy of love and royal politics.
sounds interesting?
duh-

so i guess i'm done for the day.
=)

Sunday, 5 November 2006
yesterday was somesort a blur one.
i managed to view the world with one and a half eyes.
- or maybe just one.
because my right eyelid was so swollen i could hardly open it.
i was a little frightened.
probably because the pharmacist told me it could be an eye infection.
but oh who cares.
i still bought a bottle of eye-mo and left it as it was.
my eye is still swollen and i can't actually be bothered.
as long as i can see, its fine.
=)

this year seems a little quiet.
its a good sign, right?
since no big disasters have actually come to capsize my life and make it more miserable.
yet, somehow.
i wish there was something that would happen to make me feel sad and unhappy.
something that would trigger me to think more than what i would.
something that might make a difference in my world.
something. anything.

Friday, 3 November 2006
my computer is back in action again!
=)
i wonder why too.
maybe its because.....
IT RECOVERED!
just like me!
hooray-
i think i should be delighted.
Happy Belated Birthday to me!
and Happy Birthday to Crispen!!!
=D
best wishes to you! and her!
hahahas.
xD

thanks everyone.
thank you a whole bunch-
i loved the cake!
and i love the voucher.
mentioning that.
THERESA- check your letterbox.
=D
yuean and sam should check with her because i only seem to have managed to recall her address perfectly.
lols.
xD
seriously,
today's perfect.
