nothing underwater though. (: (i'm anxiously waiting. )x)

neway; here's whassup.
the first few days...
was more about getting acquainted knowing the people who were on the dive trip together so we could complete the artificial reefs right!


so AMELIA and DELPHINE were the first 2 humans i got to know. I slept with them in the same room in RIVERVIEW hotel at Mersing, Malaysia. It wasn't exactly a hotel. But, it wasn't that bad luh. Honestly, as long as you get a Bathroom, an aircon, a teevee with reception, and fairly comfortable beds, it CAN BE recognized as a DECENT HOTEL.
had supper at their 'canteen'- then went to a 7-11 which was 10min away from the hotel. Had loads of fun chatting with all the girls. HAHA. didn't know why i was so high after drinking bak kut teh (which seriously didn't taste like it, since their BAK is CHICKEN instead of the usual spare rib used to boil the soup. HAHA.)
slept at 2 and woke up at 0530am to catch the speedboat to Pulau Aur.

So we were feeding mosquitoes while waiting at the swamp. HAHA.
but the boat ride there was alright.
transferred to a little boat to reach Atlantis Bay.




the view there was awesome. (: and nothing could beat that throughout the five days. HAHA.

and here's a few impt people.

Ross Valentine Errol, a dive master.


Sek Chuan, a Marine Biologist. (his brain is highly complex. you ask him anything from the sea. and he gives you its identity, scientific background, history, etc.etc.)


and Nash Abdullah. Another professional dive master. Greatly identifiable underwater with those red devilish horns.

there's also Shave, another dive master. But i don't happen to have his picture. Just imagine a botak man who has friggin' cool tattoos. :D

so we had our first dive that very morning. haha! Nash sounded really intimidating when he threatened to not let us dive should we screw up during the first check out dive. i seriously felt cold sweat covering me.
i last dived 4 months ago, how adept could i be? LOL
any oh how, it was great.
i still could rig my tank up with my gear. still wore my dive suit with ease. and enjoyed my dive with gary. haha.
we were too buoyant at first, couldn't sink with only 3 weights. So we had 4 in the end. HEEHEE.
didn't see much fishes though, was a little distracted with all that gear and that awesome feeling of sucking air through a regulator. That gush was just refreshing and being underwater was just.. great.

stayed up on shore after that dive. only the guys went out. :(
why? because they were simply physically more adept. what a sexist statement. -.- SERIOUSLY BIASED RIGHT. i believe i have more muscles than some men in this earth.
anyway, the females abandoned on shore had fun chatting away outside the rooms.


and here are the rooms we were sleeping in... i slept with veronica above me. (:

we were talking about everything under the sun!!!!!
and we ended up talking about poodles. haha.
then AMELIA NG took her camera out and we snapped a few pictures. (:

so AMELIA said she wanted all of us in ONE picture. and she reached out her cute lil' arms, and SNAPPED!

not that bad was it! lol.

we figured the guys were out on some sashimi buffet and didn't want to share it with us, since they were taking SOOOOO long to come back to shore. but we still waited for them to come back before eating dinner. gees.
meanwhile, we painted the BUOYS!

and signed our names on it! :D
then we SERIOUSLY had dinner. snipped some ropes at night on the beach.
the tide was really low, and a lot of corals were exposed. trampled on some while rolling out the ropes. OH WELLS.


the next day was kinda tiring. we were working hard to create artificial reefs. HEEHEE. straight after breakfast, everyone chionged. (i think)


here's US working hard filing the pipes, so it's rough, has more surface area to volume ratio, and encourages reef growth.
and here's Gary.

sipping ice cold H-TWO-O and basking in the sun. haha.
anyway, it was really tiring.
the files were METAL. trained up my forearm muscles rubbing it up and down the pipes to scratch it.


here's the cementing team. They were all coated with Cement. HAHA. guess they were really pros. They drilled holes, filled the pipes, connected it, and tied them up! WOOHOO! great work well done.
AMELIA stirred the cement for a while. and she crafted some cute stuff. (like her!)

i helped with... supporting the structure as they filled it.
not that tough, but definitely better than just contributing eye power.
in the end, everybody took a break.



here were the remains of the Filing team. TOUGH JOB K. :P

later in the afternoon, when the structures were left to dry up, we went down in search for suitable spots underwater to secure our artificial reef structures, and mooring buoys. (: we were also, to tie up the Ngee Ann Poly acrylic plate to those cement blocks deployed underwater. ROAR.

here's me with the plate. the focus here is not the exchange of the plate. BUT the gloves JANICE was wearing. IT WAS COOL. HONESTLY. Wanted to get a feel of it- heheh. sounds like molestation, but no. it wasn't. btw, JANICE is a really nice girl. haha. very funny too! hahah.

and there was CHARIS w/ her cool Nikon Camera. it wasn't digital. she used Film! WAHAHA. and i thought it was extinct.

Terry seems to have a long history with the deep ocean. think he logged quite a number of dives already. woohoo. pro kid.

ANTHONY. he loves to distribute CHILL PILLS. and he's with AMELIA ZHENG.
he's one of the favourite 'taupok' targets by the guys. always being rolled in sand when he's wet, or buried in sand, or squashed by a few hundred kilos of human meat. sounds like a sad case, but he's really funny. haha.

we ended the dives in the late evening. (: and the seniors decided to take a shower OUTSIDE! :D so we had this eye feast on JANICE in her SEXY BIKINI. (not sure if you consider the rest eye candy... but. yeah.)


everyone kinda lazed around till Dinner. then Kang ventured to the top of the rocks. and i guess AMELIA snapped him. (:

that night was pretty much alright. Lights out time was pushed back to 2300pm so most of the people were watching a movie on Kang's laptop.
AMELIA, Gary, Gman and I were playing this long and tiresome round of dai di. and the lecturers and the divemasters were chatting about diving and stuff. (:
The next day was great too. played dai di in the SAND in the morning when the first group went out to dive.
the while waiting period was really long, but still entertaining. haha.



then it was FINALLY OUR TURN TO DIVE!!!!!! woohooo.
the guys were to deploy the artificial reef structures since it was really heavy and the girls were to go down with the corals to tie!




i was carrying this container of corals down that had a creature living in it!
it looked kinda like a spider, but i guess it was a crab! HAHA! it was really cute!!it crawled out of the container underwater while i was descending and hung onto my forefinger with much fright. so i kinda... looked after it for the next 15 minutes. HEHEHE. made sure it wasn't all squashed up by us humans while they were busy securing the corals onto the structure underwater. but i think it was swept away when i passed JANICE her camera and he crawled over to cling onto her BCD. oh wells. :D



after completing the reef structure underwater and snapping a few shots, we went for a lil leisure dive around the area!! :D
our total bottom time was about .... 40 min? LOL! WOOHOOOOOO!
saw this humongous BUMP HEAD PARROTFISH! :D
we were seriously quite satisfied i guess.
after we got back on shore and had our lunch, we took a boat out to the main village at pulau aur. the main aim was to find out if the villagers' lives were affected after the surrounding waters were turned into a marine park and fishing was prohibited. they were apparently fishermen.
but frankly, nobody really bothered. we had so much fun running about the village, buying drinks, snapping pictures and just having fun.

we had a lot of fun exploring the village at the back of the school after. Cow dung was everywhere and most of us were chasing cows. HAHA. while chasing cows? amelia and i stopped to snap a shot. HAHAHA.


we climbed all the way to the top to say hello to this 40+ year old fisherman. He lives with..... his family. has a few hens and cocks. and a parrot.
lol. mosquitoes were feeding on us. and it kinda irritated me quite a bit. so we escaped the place with much pleasure.
took the boat back from the jetty. and the ride was pleasantly pleasant. (:





the last day was even more fun. One leisure dive in the morning at Lang Bay! (: The weather was refreshing. The water was refreshing. The fishes were refreshing. WOOHOO~








hehehe. any oh how, the entire trip was much fun! and the friends i made were much loved. (:
