but she managed to pull through the whole day out at the science centre.
my mum's colleagues were there together with their families.

there is the iSpace and iFuture exhibition halls put up for public viewing so do visit!
ITS REALLY FUN.

they mainly emphasize on infocomm technology and future IT.
its really cool.
theres the Chemistry section in the multi-functional hall that teaches you many concepts and allows you to do experiments! like gas chromatography, fractional distillation and stuff like that.
theres also this moving periodic table that tells you about the density, size of atoms and ionization energy.

i scraped this entire paragraph from the board:

Ionization energy

Ionization energy can be defined as the energy required to remove the outermost electron from a gaseous atom.
Across the period, the ionization energy needed increases because of the increasing nuclear charge. The attraction between the nucleus and the electrons increases, and thus more energy is required to remove the outermost shell electrons.
The ionization energy needed decreases down the group. As the number or of shells increases, the outermost electrons lie further and further away from the nucleus and are not so strongly attracted to the nucleus. Thus it requires lesser energy.
